A Tale of Two BBQ's

Maybe I wished for a bit too much summer. It's sweltering here in Cardiff now. Still, can't complain, it makes for good BBQ weather... but oh for more of a breeze. It was pretty roasting down Cardiff Bay at the food festival, so much so that my overheated brain made me largely incapable of taking decent photos. I did get these two though...

A BBQ at a friend's followed. Met a few new people there, but the most entertaining of them was a little lass called Rosetta, who had an obsession over fictional pancakes. The relentless cry of "It's pancakes time!" ensured that we were left with no excuse not to nibble on the tasty tea-towel shaped pancakes proferred. And it was beautiful light for portraits, no mistake...

 "It's pancakes time!"

Also, her dad had one of those distinctive faces that lends itself to portraiture. He reminded me strongly of a Walker Evans figure from his migrant series, so I processed in kodachrome stylee for that epic Rockwell look...

Earlier, in a park, over another BBQ, I said goodbye to two friends headed back up to my old stomping grounds in the North, just prior to a round-the-world backpacking holiday. The none-more-Yorkshire Jenny and her beau, Ryan. Gin featured heavily.

"Seriously dude, enough with the tambourine..."

"Say hello, snap goodbye."
